If we leave everything to each other should the worst happen(or an amount big enough to pay off mortgage) is it possible for dp to make a different will stating something else that I won't know about? Might be being paranoid but I have visions of him changing his will without me knowing is this possible? I want to leave things so that it all goes to each other. I've heard of different wills turning up but is this even possible?

I don't think you can will the life assurance linked to a mortgage to someone else, can you?
Legal/finance may be a better place to ask.

If you're really worried about this, there's no reason why you couldn't take out a policy yourself which would pay out in the event of your DH's death?

I would do as petal suggests. While life assurance will have to be used to pay the mortgage, that doesn't mean that he has to leave you his share of the house I don't think.

Then its something I'll bring up because no way will I live in a house that he might will to someone else if worst happens. Should be left to each other!
