My stepdaughter (23) has just phoned to let me know she's just been offered a job in another part of the UK. She's planning on getting with a flat with her boyfriend now. He's already got a job in the same region. Had a really interesting chat with the boyfriend last week, in which he said how fed up my stepdaughter was with being unfairly treated by her mother - and how glad she was to move back in with us last August, to do a uear long training course.

My stepdaughter had a few ups and downs over the years, but looking back I feel that the process has been worthwhile. And I'm glad that I have been one of the people who has helped her towards adulthood.
