Just having a moan about holiday contact

Gah...I just want to invite some friends over for dinner. But I can't, because we still don't know what day DSS will be allowed to come over for half term, and his return time takes DH out of the house for an hour at least.

DH has a contact order but the holiday allowed is pathetic - one day per week of holiday. (DH is taking this back to court but in the meantime we just have to put up with it). So, as usual...the first weekend we were supposed to have contact as normal, but DSS's mother said it wasn't going to happen as it was her birthday and her older DS's birthday. Fair enough, would have been nice to swap but hey ho. DH asked if he could have DSS on Thursday as we are going away for the weekend and that would give us an extra day - no, that would give us 'too many nights' Confused so we had to have Tuesday. OK, no problem, we plan for Tuesday (including sorting other appointments for days we don't have contact). So Friday she rings, she hadn't realised Tuesday was a bank holiday, so we can't have contact then. Confused Confused She is supposed to be ringing today to say when we can have contact. D'you think she has?

When you go back to court, try and get a clause included that states a notice period - DP insisted that the court order said that holiday contact must be agreed 28 days in advance - that way, if ex refuses, he's still got time to apply to the court.

Good idea, hadn't thought of that one. DH is about to set off as he hasn't been able to reach her - it's a ridiculous situation. And deliberate, too - so that DSS doesn't have a good time with Dad.
