Are the kids affected when they get older..?

Anyone else on here have a large extended family? Just wondered how the kids are as they get older?

I'm mum to one, step mum to three and one of the step kids has a younger sister and another has two older siblings (yes OH has been a naughty boy lol).

So lots of brothers and sisters and lots of grandparents/step-grandparents, parents, parent types etc.

Anyone had any problems? Steve and me have been together over a year but the kids are still all under 5 and I wonder what the future holds! Should I be worried? Any advice would be welcome! xx

Families if any shape and size, half, step or biological can all have problems. It really all depends on the people involved.

You only have to read through a few threads on here to realise that a step family isn't always the easiest to deal with and has it's own distinctive problems.

Agree. I can see things from every angle as a step child and a step mum.

Personally I suffered more when my parents were together and was relieved when they finally divorced. I resented my stepdad at first but love him to bits now. I detested my stepmother and she hated me too and i haven't spoken to her since my dads funeral and hopefully never will again!
I ended up with 2 step brothers who I adore so I think it is down to the individual people and how they treat each other more than anything!
