Oh OK Tarantula. I'm prepared to set aside French swimmer and continue the quest for Breton man.

NotActuallyAMum · 03/03/2006 23:32

Mmmm just eaten, full up now

Well nearly, still room for some more pernod Grin

tarantula · 03/03/2006 23:42

dd has jsut turned 2 Namm and is in quest of a new word a day at the moment (or so it seems)

NotActuallyAMum · 03/03/2006 23:50

My youngest nephew is 7 now, time flies

When the kids were all little I had a habit of pressing their noses and saying "beep" and when my sisters ds1 was about 18 months he had to stay in hospital overnight, my sister stayed with him. In the morning a nurse came in, leaned over the cot and said "how are you this morning?" He looked at her, pressed her nose and went "beep" Of course I got the blame Grin

tarantula · 04/03/2006 00:02

lol Naam servers you right for teaching them that then. DD is a wwe minx atm. She jumped off hte climbing frame yesterday trying to reach hte firemans pole and of course missed adn crashed to the ground. Por dp nearly died of fright as he was with her. wee daredevil tat she is. She was fine of course but can produse a fine limp if she thinks there is any sympathy in the offing

NotActuallyAMum · 04/03/2006 00:08

lol

They're not quite as fragile as people think are they? And they don't see danger at that age either which can't be a bad thing, they have enough of that when they get older. Are you planning any more children?

tarantula · 04/03/2006 00:19

longing to yes Having no maternity pay doesnt pay the mortgage and dp cant either. Thats the down side of a sahd He cant PRODUCE the kids or bf them so we are stuck with one. If we didnt have hte CSA breathing down our necks I'd def have another and soon but we just cant afford to atm. I'd really like dd to have a sibling of around her own age too.

Ach well such is life. It doesnt actually get me down or anyhtign.

tarantula · 04/03/2006 00:23

Kids are as tough as old boots in general. Dp has a theory that 9/10 its the parents clucking that teachs the kid to cry when it falls rahter than that being hte childs initials responce. obv not when the child is really hurt but just general tumbles. I await a generl suvey by some child expert on this soon Its one area that doent seem to have been covered

tarantula · 04/03/2006 00:25

Well Am off to bed now as have to be up with dd in the morningHopefuly not too early tho. Take care and good night

NotActuallyAMum · 04/03/2006 00:26

No maternity pay? Didn't think employers could avoid that, or am I very naive?

NotActuallyAMum · 04/03/2006 00:28

Morning on a Saturday? What's that?? Grin

Night, speak soon Smile

workingmumnhs · 04/03/2006 09:06

Good morning girlies. How are the head this morning

Squirrel3 · 04/03/2006 10:29

Morning, sorry I disapeared last night, problems with the computer, I see you had a good time though.

Tarantula, yes I do catch pollock, I like it more than Cod, whiting is quite good too, they are all from the same family. Dp gets a bit 'put out' because I always catch the biggest fish! I leave dp to gut them though, I don't like that bit!

BTW, I totally agree with the theory that it is the parents clucking that makes the kids cry, Lea has started to pull herself up to standing on the furniture and obviously she falls over sometimes, she never cries unless dd sees her and goes in to 'panick mode', its only then that Lea realises that maybe she should be crying.

Have you all got hangovers then?

I spent most of yesterday evening trying to sort out this computer, I think it sorted.

workingmumnhs · 04/03/2006 10:43

No, I'm alright, but I left at half ten, (lightweight) They were still here till 12.30 from the look of it.

Squirrel3 · 04/03/2006 10:51

NOooooo! The computer is still really slow, I don't know why, any ideas?.... anyone?

I've performed the maintenance checks, defragged it, deleted all cookies and temporary internet files on every user and checked for viruses. Maybe it’s the internet connection. Mmmmmmmm.........

Good morning Grin

Only joking - I haven't just got up, honest...

Squirrel we guessed your computer had died on you. I'm not technical at all on these things, you need tarantula Grin

Hope everyone's OK Smile

workingmumnhs · 04/03/2006 14:38

That all soundsto complicated, In situations like this what you need to do is go to your local friendly computer shop, (or your brother in my case) and bat your eyelids in the best "I am a helpless female" manner and you'll have them bending over backwards to help you. That is what i do anyway

NotActuallyAMum · 04/03/2006 20:36

DP is trying to be clever, there's a thread in chat asking how many pairs of shoes you own and he said "bet tarantula has got loads" Grin

Surfermum · 05/03/2006 21:28

I woke up at 6 with a mouth like the bottom of a parrot's cage. What a hilarious night. I was trying to explain to my friends that I'd had a virtual night in, but stopped when they looked at me all blank.

NotActuallyAMum · 05/03/2006 23:03

lol Surfermum Grin

I got up about 10 yesterday which is average for me on a Saturday, in fact if anything it's probably early - there are some advantages to not having children...

Squirrel, really hope your new job goes well tomorrow - good luck Smile

NotActuallyAMum · 06/03/2006 11:24

Hello everyone Smile

I'm really tired today - couldn't sleep last night, hate it when DP is on nights. Should have got some more pernod down me, I'm sure that would have helped Grin

Hope everyone's OK. Must remember to come on later to see how Squirrel's job went

workingmumnhs · 06/03/2006 16:33

This is a lot quieter during the day now Squirrel has a new job. I wonder how she got on.

Squirrel3 · 06/03/2006 18:37

What are you all trying to say? Wink

Do I talk to much?

The job went ok, I worked really hard for a first day, they needed me to totally re-organise the office and sort out a few staffing problems.

Infact I don't know how the office ran at all the way it is. Well, I made a start anyway so it should get beter!

I may have to sack one woman, she doesn't work, she just talks rubbish all day, all she talks about are her kids and how one her son burned down the local school and is in prison, her daughter is 18 and has three kids. I've been home 30 mins and I can still hear her voice grating around in my head. How she got a job in admin I don't know, she smells, has the most annoying voice ever, her telephone manner is appalling, she has lost most of her teeth, she can't touch type and as far as I can tell she can't use the computer. Why employ her? she is dead weight! I am a tough boss, but I can't abide people who come to work and do absolutely nothing all day and expect to get paid for it. If they get the work done then want to talk the rest of day fair enough (as long as they don't distract others working).

Sorry I'm still in work mode. Blush

Time to calm down and have a glass of veno.

I really missed you lot!

OP posts:
NotActuallyAMum · 06/03/2006 21:23

We missed you too Squirrel Smile

Agree with you about people not doing their jobs properly. I know I come on here from work but I do my job at the same time, and if I'm busy with other stuff I don't come on

Really glad it went well for you Smile

NotActuallyAMum · 07/03/2006 12:33

How is everyone today?

I feel a lot livlier than I did yesterday, think I spent the day on autopilot Grin
