PLEASE come and join my new group for stepmums in the UK, I need lots of friendly, nutty, chatty mums to share experiences, ups & downs, rant and raves and support others or get support yourself. I started this group up as im a newbie to this and wanted other stepmums, as all kinda in the same situation to all club together and loose our marbles to the lovely word of step-parenting. Here's the link

i know this thread hasn't had many replies but I'll join your group. could do with another step mother to speak to.

workingmumnhs · 21/01/2006 21:29

Can't get thru to that link. Has it been cancelled

Somanykiddies · 22/01/2006 19:06

Snap workingmumnhs, tried a few times as well. Being a stepmum is a total minefield isn't it!

Squirrel3 · 22/01/2006 19:34

It was cancelled because of lack of interest.

Who needs that site anyway, we have MN, there is none better.

You will find the stepmums on here very nice, we are very good at giving suport when needed, good at listening to rants without being judgemental (being a stepmum is hard enough)and sometimes we even give some good advice, I know it certainly saved my relationship and the kids from having to go through another split, and if you want a laugh The Nutty Stepmums Club thread is always good for a giggle, you will be welcomed, we are always looking for 'new blood'

workingmumnhs · 22/01/2006 21:02

have had a look at that nutty stepmums thread. It seems so long and well established. I feel like a needle in a hay stack. I'll give it another go tho. Thanks

Squirrel3 · 23/01/2006 06:08

Yes please give it a go, you will find that you will soon get to know everyone and they are a good bunch.

We don't bite (well maybe Tarantula, but she can be forgiven as she is a very nice spider really).

Hithere,

I am a stepmum and also a lecturer and researcher in psychology. I am currently conducting research into stepmothers and am looking for women to participate in my research by completing a questionaire. The research is aimed at understanding the issues associated with stepparenting and ultimately identifying strategies for helping women cope better in their roles. If anyone feels they would like to participate by completing a questionnaire then please contact me via email. I will be very grateful for any help and will of course keep you updated with the findings of the research (if you would like to that is!)All responses will obviously be treated confidentially. My email address is [email protected]. Many thanks!
