What does everyone do for birthday cards?

It was my Dads birthday over the weekend and I sent a card with "Dad" on it from me, DP and dsd but afterwards I wondered if I should be putting dsd on our card or if I ought to buy a separate one. I don't think it would have been appropriate for her to send a "Grandad" card because he isn't her grandad but I could have bought a separate, ordinary birthday card and got her to write it for him, which I know she's be more than happy to do

What does everyone else do?

Generally where my dad, sister, brother etc is concerned I get an email from Mum or my big sis telling me that it was yesterday so I swear loudly and run off an email and sign it from all of us

Seriously tho I send one card from us as a family cos thats what I feel we are.

On all our cards i just sign all our names as we are a family . I too forget to send cards so its often a Happy birthday song over the phone (sung by my very cute boy who has Down's) then everyone forgets that i forgot to send a card and coos over him .How about getting her to make a homemade card for the special people in her life (without names ie grandad

I also sign the card as a family... TBH they may be step children but they are treated no differently by the family and called grand-daughter and they call them grandparents same for Aunty etc. The children know the difference in reality biological terms but its a nice way of acceptance IMO

I have 2 stepsons who live with us 60% of the time and a bio DD, all birthday cards, presents etc are labelled from all of us, I agree with SaintNikk and everyone else). It would feel odd to single the DSs out.

FWIW, my stepdad has only been on the scene for 8 years and he still gets Dad & Grandad cards from us. It just doesn't occur to us to do it anyother way.
