Day off...?

Bit of a moan really. I am coming up to the end of two weeks off work and would have really liked a day off from making my dss's packed lunches, schools runs, dr's appointements, ect ect. I mentioned it to my dp this morning and he just moaned about not being able to get to work early (he has flexible working hours).

I signed dss school trip consent form and made out a cheque for it, made breakfasts and pack up whilst dp sat and had his breakfast-this is my day off! He won't do anything for mothers day. I just feel like I'm good enough for child care, shopping, washing ect but nothing else. I just want to be appreciated and not made to feel like the hired help thats unpaid. I have a full time job!

I know it's a bit late now for today but why didn't you just stay in bed and make dp deal with dss today? Step back and make dp do some parenting himself!

About mothers day.... Keep making comments about how you are really looking forward to being spoilt on Sunday, having a lie in, breakfast in bed etc! And if that fails then when it comes around to fathers day say that you thought we weren't doing special days as no one bothered with mothers day!

How old is dss? Could he do his own pack the night before?

Sounds like your partner has it easy, to me! What's he want a partner or a char woman???

It's horrid isn't it. Mother's day has made me reevaluate the things i do. I didn't expect a card or anything but whilst Dp did sort out my DD first thing so i didnt have to get up mega early, there was zero attention paid by either him or DSd that maybe she should be making a special effort for me due to all the things I do for her.

My advice would be, either get on with doing all the crap and face facts that you'll never get any thanks or respect from your step child. Or stop doing them
