2 - 0 at the moment.

I think that Germany are playing really well.

Ah, sorry Nancy.

My DH is German so it is clear who we are supporting tonight.

Just managed to get DS off to bed, he was not happy at missing the game.

Since I am alone here, I will sing a wee song

Ein Rudi Völler, es gibt nur ein Rudi Völler, ein Rudi Vöööööööööller, es gibt nur ein Rudi Vöööller

DH is watching while I MN and try to ignore that horrible horn-blowing-buzzing sound.
Should be supporting Germany, but actually cannot get into it at all.
Not like last time, when it was here - now that was really exciting! Even a total non-footie-fan like me got right into it

I can't get into it at all either. I'm quite intrigued by those horns everyone keeps going on about (haven't watched a single second so far), but that's about it. DD1 was allowed to stay up late to watch the match last night (at my ILs) and was really interested in it apparently, asking lots of questions - doesn't take after me at all!

Last time was slightly more exciting as the Italian team were staying at a hotel just round the corner from where we live. Lots of policemen everywhere, big screens constructed all around the hotel so you couldn't see in (not that I would have recognised any of the Italian players).

V. loud over here now - there is going to be some late night celebrating tonight!
Hope it doesn't wake ds....

Could do with a brezel with my beer, actually

Me too MmeL - they looked quite promising at the start. The red ard was far too harsh - even the German ZDF commentator thought so.

Oh, you all seem to be getting into it now. I wish I could persuade DH to get into it as I might actually be able to MN in the evenings then. No sign so far, however...

Bagels are similar to Brezel are they not? Are they put in a solution of water and soda?

Yes, they are v. simlar, you boil (but just in water, no soda or lauge) and then bake.

Well. That was exciting. Hopefully they'll keep it up in the next match too.

When the commentator said "Every generation mirrors the one before" or something like it, did anyone else feel the urge to sing "and all of their frustrations/ Come beating on your door" ?....
