The Rolling Footbal Thread: Season 2026/27

New season, new thread

All things football ⚽

Well that was feisty.

Great win for Brighton with 10 men for atleast half hr. More points already than we got in the month after our previous manager of the month win!

It's getting worse for Spurs but going by the comments, Shaw should have seen red as well.

(not seen the incident)

Well, amazingly we scored a goal and got a point. Which I guess is ‘progress’. A more in-form team than Man U would have punished us more harshly for our poor finishing though

@NoisyBrain It's more than form, no fucking clue what Carrick is doing and neither does he!

It's going to be a long arsed season 😪

I'm not convinced united have done any fitness training, they grand around, walk and generally appear to be behind on pace.

I spend more time yelling at them to move, than actually enjoying watching them play.

They are not good enough right now.

Still unbeaten but annoyed that we gifted Hull the equaliser.

@Brefugee I've just seen the reason for your penalty. Bloody hell, I'm surprised our player didn't get a red card. Is your player ok?

Was so looking forward to this game. Gutted at how it's going. Ref is a twat.

Because of the red card?

I agree that the first yellow was harsh but the second was deserved.

I think City will have to get used to the reception they received yesterday.

Haven't seen any match reports yet. Am scared to check!

First yellow was too harsh.

Yes.

I have only seen MotD so don't know how the ref was over the whole of the game, but the second card changed the game ofcourse.

Really sad to hear that former Gillingham and Vale captain Doug Loft has passed away after a medical emergency over the weekend. Only 39, no age. RIP 💙😞

I remember him playing for Brighton, very sad

Hi everyone!

Port Vale Fan here. Very sad to hear the news of Doug Loft.

How much did Man City's rule breaking cost your team?

Just a big congratulations to Anthony Gordon. Such an interesting and lovely lad Doing brilliantly at Barca and along with Jude and Harry a true English superstar.

Port Vale play Gills next Tuesday, I'm sure there will be a special tribute 💙

About the same as cheating Chelsea. How are they getting off Scott free?? Cockney media?

Good win tonight. Making heavy weather of it at first, but then Timber does a blinder.

RIP Ken Friar. Started at the club as a runner, aged 12 in 1946. Worked his way up to Managing Director, and was appointed Life President. 80 years at Arsenal, keeping the culture alive. By all accounts a lovely person.

That was a dismal second half from us and Moyes made the wrong sub with Norgaard for this match.

Both Rogers and Palmer were lucky not to get a second yellow

Hope Martinez is alright.

I'm not looking forward to this. Our best 2 defenders went off injured last week against Sheffield Wednesday and I have a feeling Plymouth are going to beat us comfortably.

I'm also expecting Bali Mumba to do something stupid against his old team. Red card? Own goal? Don't know why, just a feeling.

The Chelsea match was on in the pub at our ground. Hope Martinez is ok.
