Baseball Season 2026

Hey!

Anyone following this season? I started casually, but I'm now fully invested in catchers, bullpen chaos and questionable strike calls...

Would love people to share the drama with - on either side of the Atlantic!

Texas Rangers fan here. We watch games on mlb tv and are 100% invested! We’re also chasing the 30 ballparks - 13 done so far, trip for 4 more planned for September. Which team do you support?

QuackersForCatchers · 03/05/2026 08:24

Also an mlb tv user.

I got started by casually picking a few teams to follow just to give me a hook, I had no idea what I was doing initially. I’ve somehow ended up slightly feral for the Rays, but I’m still keeping a close eye on the Cardinals and the Giants (it’s nice to have a team that keeps you grounded 😂).

13 ballparks is so impressive! Which have been your favourites so far?

We liked Dodgers Stadium and Fenway but I think Camden Yards is my favourite so far. Proper atmosphere. We’ve been to the Trop a couple of times, once when it rained really heavily and it’s definitely an experience. Other than family, we don’t really know anyone who follows baseball in this country and I get a lot of rounders comment! 🤣 But the vibe at a game is so chill and family oriented and we love checking out all the food options. And I’m a nerdy stats fan!

Oh nice! The only one I’ve been to was the original Nats park (RFK). And then I stopped following baseball at all for almost 20 years 😂

Definitely making up for lost time now!

I also don’t know any IRL fans – even my American SIL is just a vague regional-loyalty Mariners supporter 😂

I’m really getting into the stats side of things too – currently working my way through A Fan’s Guide to Baseball Analytics.

I haven’t really crossed paths with the Rangers yet this season – how are they looking? Anyone I should keep an eye on? Corey Seager is one of yours, right?

The Rangers are holding their own! 🤣 Seager has yet to impress but new signing Nimmo (from the Mets) has been awesome. And Josh Jung. We have some pretty solid pitchers in Eovaldi and Degrom. It’s been a rollercoaster since they won the WS in 2023. I can still remember the feeling of having to leave the room repeatedly in game 5! We couldn’t really believe it!

Dodgers family here. We don't live in a state with an MLB team so we travel whenever they are close to us. In St Louis this weekend.

QuackersForCatchers · 03/05/2026 21:31

@Fantasmic143 Oh that must have been incredible!! I love those moments where you genuinely can’t believe what you’re watching 😄

I need to look up Nimmo and Jung properly – I’m still in the “learning who everyone is” phase for some teams. I swear, I feel like I’m collecting baseball players like pokemon 😂

@HawkersWest Oh that sounds amazing – I love the idea of following them around like that!

You’ve picked a… lively weekend for St Louis 😅 how has it been in the stadium?

My baseball weekend has been pretty good — the Rays swept the Giants, though as someone also keeping an eye on the Giants, that was a slightly conflicted experience. They are really not having the best start to the season…

Ah, just seen the Dodgers took game 3 — that must have improved the weekend!

It's nice to go home with a win! Everyone was in good spirits, fun games and a fun stadium.
