Son whinging through football practice

My son aged 3 started of football practice fine then began asking me to join with him which I did, the group then started properly so I went to sit with my 11 month old daughter and watched from the sideline. Again he started whinging that he wanted me, another parent watched my daughter so I could go play, I tried to join in while also watching my daughter and encouraging him to do it on his own. He then begun crying because they didn’t pick him to be on for a game, tried to calm him down and encourage to join in. The coach tried to encourage him, he kept whinging. I said to my son he needed to stop whinging otherwise he would have to go home. Whinging didn’t stop so I took him home. I had to carry him out kicking and screaming and now I am racked with guilt that I did the wrong thing by removing him from the practice

He’s only 3. It’s probably all a bit too much. Try again in a couple of years.

Oh ffs he’s 3, he’s a baby. He doesn’t like it.

Agreed, classes at this age are largely pointless, just have a kick about in the park with him.

Agree with the others. He’s 3. Just leave it a few years.

Definitely too young. I don't think I'd want them to be interested in or have any knowledge of football at that age. I definitely wouldn't call it 'practice' or go anywhere near anything that did until they were about 7

it’s not football practice I agree it’s a run around there are lots of three year olds there he begs to go every week hence taking him I missed off that I had to carry him out kicking and screaming because he didn’t want to leave he was screaming I want to play football I guess this is not the nice supportive place I thought it was
