Olympic Park events

Was at the diamond league on Saturday. Absolutely loved it. But it took over an hour and a half to get out of the grounds is that normal for the venue? Have attended events in far bigger venues and never experienced anything like it. It was bloody dangerous to be honest. There was so much organisers could have done to avoid the crush, a few national events after the main event, keeping food stands open to allow people enjoy the grounds. But instead come 4pm a mass exodus. Have tickets for another event in a month but thinking I might sell the tickets if this is the norm.

It is always the same, but you can hang around the park without getting caught in the masses. We normally do that, take our time getting out of the stadium then pootle around the park for an hour or so.

I totally agree that some more national or even local club races would be fun afterwards to eke out the exit!

Thanks @AlphabetBird I think I'll sell my tickets. It's a later event so might not get home. Only our second time there, first was the olympics and it wasn't anything like that. Cannot understand how other venues can clear larger crowds in minutes and a recently built venue is so unprepared for crowds.
