Happy New Year.

We start with the first all teams season launch on 18 February. Ferrari reveal their 2025 car the day after.

Pre season testing will take place on 26 to 28 February in Bahrain. Australia will host the opening race on Sunday March 16th.

Gasly on top in FP1 - the Alpine seems to be going well.

Looking good for Oscar and Lando again, less good for Lewis - still half a second a lap away from Charles. And amusingly Helmut (82) has said that Vettel would be the ideal replacement for him.

Brazilianadventure · 19/04/2025 17:04

Verstappen looks threatening. Carlos getting on top of the Williams and is close to Alex. Shame Lewis is struggling but as I’ve said before give him time.

I’m afraid I ignore anything Helmut or Christian say about Lewis because it’s far more personal than with any other driver.

Ah no I didn't mean Helmut said Vettel should replace Lewis, Helmut wants Vettel to replace himself at RB as he's getting older now. Its amusing because Vettel is such a nice guy and Helmut never seems to come across well.

Sorry I misunderstood. Seb would be very good for RB - look at how he encouraged the girls karting.

I agree, but only because he's the exact opposite of Christian and Helmut.

midlandsmummy123 · 19/04/2025 18:54

Oh no -poor Lando.

Brazilianadventure · 19/04/2025 19:00

Lewis only just getting through. I think he might be P9.

I agree poor Lando.

That was so close - 3 excellent laps Max, Oscar and George.

Such a tiny gap from Max to Oscar! and still half a second from Charles to Lewis.

sparkellie · 19/04/2025 19:15

Verstappen is really earning every position this year. I've never been a big fan of his (I'm a Hamilton girl), but he's really grown on me this year. I think he's mellowed a bit, and we're seeing more of his personality coming through. Norris is potentially a very good drver, but I don't think this will be his year. I think he still has some learning to do.

midlandsmummy123 · 19/04/2025 19:42

Carlos also did well with P6, I agree with Max maturing - I wonder if Kelly and his baby has arrived yet, i'm sure it was due around now.

midlandsmummy123 · 19/04/2025 22:13

Ouch - Lance Stroll has just become the driver with the most Q1 exits in F1 history (75).

Brazilianadventure · 20/04/2025 06:17

I agree not a good stat for Stroll.

WRT Kelly’s baby end of April/ early May is when the media say she is due. I am sure it will be announced on IG.

That was a very entertaining qualifying, even if I’m not a Max fan. Worth getting up at 2.30am to watch.

I started following F1 back in 2007 but haven’t watched for a few years so it’s kind of exciting to catch up on all the changes. I’d even somehow missed the news that Lewis moved to Ferrari! I was also surprised that Fernando is still driving.

As an Australian it’s great having a top driver to follow. Here’s hoping Oscar can have a lightning start and get ahead of Max. I’m guessing a well timed safety car or red flag is the best chance of an exciting race here.

witte · 20/04/2025 08:50

I think Oscar beating him will be getting into Lando’s head a lot. He doesn’t seem to cope well with extra pressure, like when he was on pole last year and kept losing that position on the first corner.

Lewis is making me anxious too Grin

Watching the pre-show. I think Bernie is such a good addition to the presenting team.

Love Bernie, as a fellow NI person, she's a very clever woman

Max should have had to give the place back.
