Happy New Year.

We start with the first all teams season launch on 18 February. Ferrari reveal their 2025 car the day after.

Pre season testing will take place on 26 to 28 February in Bahrain. Australia will host the opening race on Sunday March 16th.

Lando has shown some good growth there. Last season he would have bottled it under that pressure as Max had some good opportunities to overtake there.

What a race!

StarCourt · 16/03/2025 06:09

@UghFletchercompletely agree and glad Lewis is starting as he means to go on

witte · 16/03/2025 06:18

Damn, Lewis didn’t look good at all. Poor Oscar too, he was really unlucky there.

purplespink · 16/03/2025 05:22

100% agree @anothermnuser123, DH and I were getting annoyed. Then you find out Max is 14 seconds away!!

I ended up opening the F1 app, my Daughter has it to watch the live timings so it comes in handy when they decide not to put them up

Rowgtfc72 · 16/03/2025 07:12

Just watched Hadjars interview. Oh bless him. He said he was an embarrassment and apologised.

gingercat02 · 16/03/2025 08:09

Well that was an interesting season opener. I usually love a wet race but not this one.
Bad day for the Rookies, apart from Antonelli. Really felt for Hadjar.
Shame to lose Carlos as the Williams both looked hot.
Sad for Oscar but his own mistake.
Delighted for Lando but Oscar and then Max pushed him hard.

gingercat02 · 16/03/2025 09:23

Antonelli has had his penalty reversed, due to more information being provided, so P4.

Wakemeuuuup · 16/03/2025 15:18

Just finished watching. It was a brilliant race.

I hope Lando has been working with a psychiatrist over the summer to build his confidence as that's what held him back last year. He kept putting himself down. We'll done on the win today.

Hamilton hasn't got to grips with the car yet and he doesn't yet have a good relationship with his engineer. I really hope that gets better soon

Poor Hadjar, Anthony Hamilton seems to be a lovely man

Eddie Jordan has died

MercedesLeftWheelNut · 20/03/2025 08:53

Sky News released that (too early) this morning and had to pull the post but I suspected than it was genuine news.

Really sad for him and F1. What a character he was who really livened up the sport.

StarCourt · 20/03/2025 08:54

One of the best races I have ever been to was Spa 1998 when Damon won for Jordan.

spottedinthewilds · 20/03/2025 09:36

So sad about EJ! What a character he was. I really enjoy his FFS podcast with DC.

Wakemeuuuup · 20/03/2025 11:10

I'm surprisingly sad about Eddie Jordan. I know he was "quirky" but as an Irish woman who has always watched f1 it was the 1st time Ireland had a stake in the racing and it felt really good. We may never hear the Irish national anthem again.

RIP Eddie

gingercat02 · 20/03/2025 13:07

Just saw the news about EJ, really sad. Growing up in a Motorsport family in Ireland he was really supportive of the sport at all levels.
Many entertaining days at Mondello 🤣

milski · 20/03/2025 13:39

EJ seemed quite positive about his recovery on his last podcast with DC. It's such a shock, even though he was 76. I loved his insights into the shenanigans of the paddock. He was one of a kind.

F1fanpink · 20/03/2025 20:36

RIP EJ I loved listening to the FFS podcast too and was shocked to hear the sad news. One of a kind indeed

buzzing · 21/03/2025 09:48

Delighted for LH this morning!

spottedinthewilds · 21/03/2025 14:43

It’s going to be a an exciting sprint race, particularly the first corner. Although I don’t think I am excited enough to get up for it.

Poor Liam!!

gingercat02 · 21/03/2025 19:21

I hate sprint races so I won't be getting up (3am!)
Not sure where we fit it all in this weekend, particularly without seeing the results. I only knew sprint quali was on when FB told me Lawson was last #Yukiwasrobbed

JamesWebbSpaceTelescope · 22/03/2025 07:46

I did get up - whole family did. It was a fun enjoyable race. Very happy with the result.

LL is last on the grid again for tomorrow. Not the start he or Red Bull would have wanted. But Kimi Antonelli is flying.

StarCourt · 22/03/2025 10:42

so pleased for Hadjar

purplespink · 22/03/2025 10:56

How is it that the Ferrari obviously has great pace and comes P1 in the sprint but then qualifies in that position? I understand that this isn’t Charles’ track but Lewis? And I’m a huge LH fan in case anyone thinks otherwise!

Wibbley97 · 22/03/2025 12:02

Always fascinating isn’t it. I think Maclaren and Mercedes managed to unlock a bit extra from their cars after learning from the sprint quali, whereas I think Lewis and his team had got the most out of that Ferrari for the sprint quali but not found any evolution for main quali. Lewis’ lap times have been pretty consistent so it’s not like he’s gone backwards, just others have gone forwards. George Russell seems to be getting very little airtime or attention but that Mercedes looks better than I expected for this season.

Brazilianadventure · 22/03/2025 12:42

I have WiFi yay.
I’m on a different time zone so the Sprint was at 11 pm. Qually 3 am so caught the first but not qually.

So pleased for Lewis, given it’s only his second race for Ferrari he has done well.

I really feel for Liam, RB have a real
problem as they have designed the car for Max so he is winning but they won’t win a constructors championship. I do hope Liam gets on top of the car otherwise it could be another harsh lesson from RB.

Both the maclarens made mistakes on their sprint qualifying laps, and probably should have been higher up.
Also from what I've read ferrari have also made some changes to make the car perform better over the race distance, which has after their one lap times slightly too.
