San Sebastian Marathon

Am just recovering from trip to San Sebastian to support son who was going to run in it!
We left Gatwick Saturday morning to go to Bilbao and bus to San Seb .
After 2 aborted landings we were diverted to Barcelona..other side of Spain!!
Coach journey was 8 hrs and then announcement from San Seb organisers saying Marathon cancelled because of weather.
Got to San Seb and weather brilliant , Sunday, sunny and breezy. No obvious signs that there had been any prep for the Marathon !
Absolutely no contact from Zurich the sponsor and 1000s of people there thinking WTAF .
Has anyone else any information? Son ran the Marathon route anyway; but surely the organisers should have made a bit more effort with communication..the runners were charged for entering!

@Geometry Dash That sounds incredibly frustrating! After all the travel hassle, to arrive and find out the marathon was canceled—especially with seemingly good weather—must have been disappointing. Your son deserves major respect for running the route anyway!

It does seem like the communication from the organizers was lacking. Have you checked if there’s been any official statement or refund policy from Zurich or the race organizers? You’re definitely not alone in feeling let down.
