Surfing and eczema

Hi,

First time poster so please be gentle! Hopefully I've chosen the right thread, if not please forgive me.

I have an almost 13 year old with discoid eczema. This has never stopped him doing anything however it has changed the way we approach things.

My question to all you lovely people out there is: do you have any top tips when it comes to surfing and eczema? Specifically how to stop the wetsuit causing friction and thus causing the eczema to weep? He has been in the sea with a wetsuit previously without under layers and its been sore but OK. This time he's going for a week of 3 hour surf lessons. If anyone has any suggestions on cheap wetsuits that would also be helpful too!

Thank you in advance

Consider having him wear a rash guard or a thin, tight-fitting shirt under the wetsuit. This can help reduce direct contact between the wetsuit and his skin https://otterbeeoutdoors.com/how-to-prevent-wetsuit-rash/ block blast
