Happy New Year.

Thought I would start the 2024 thread given there is more political intrigue with the FIA.

2 resignations and one person choosing to not renew their contract. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/67906883

Plus allegedly another ex-Red Bull employee moving to the FIA. https://x.com/silverarrowsnet/status/1744375322131231089?s=46&t=lJm6-66fq4MtGcwwAsK6Kg

Goss becomes third senior figure to quit FIA

Leading engineer Tim Goss leaves his role as the single-seater technical director of motorsport's governing body the FIA.

It’s been a long day waiting for this race ! 🥱

Rowgtfc72 · 05/05/2024 19:06

I'm up at 340am for work tomorrow. Hate late races. I'm watching while both mclarens are still racing🙂

Yourauntfanny · 05/05/2024 19:08

Could be an interesting one, no one is having much fun out there so very good chance of some mistakes and a shake up…

Purplehatty · 05/05/2024 20:48

First corner could be interesting ! 🏁

Rowgtfc72 · 05/05/2024 22:00

Crossing everything for lando!

ColleenDonaghy · 05/05/2024 22:02

Come on Lando...

Sulusu · 05/05/2024 22:04

Happy as I am to see the McLaren's doing so well, their good result is going to be tainted now for me after seeing Zac Brown cosying up to Trump 😬

rosalynd34 · 05/05/2024 22:11

Lando has to have this, keeping everything crossed

Come on lando! I don't think his dad is there today but I bet he's screaming at the telly

spottedinthewilds · 05/05/2024 22:26

Go Lando!! I will cry happy tears if he wins!! 😂

ColleenDonaghy · 05/05/2024 22:28

Lol I was just thinking how unpopular Piastri would be if he caused a safety car.

I'm starting to dare to dream...

Not even a big Lando fan, just delighted for the change to the usual.

witte · 05/05/2024 22:29

McLaren's pit team look so on edge, loved them telling Oscar to play nice!

No safety car!

Jagley · 05/05/2024 22:33

Nearly there Lando!

RockaLock · 05/05/2024 22:39

Great result! Smile Really pleased for Lando.

rosalynd34 · 05/05/2024 22:41

Tilda77 · 05/05/2024 22:41

I'm up for work in just over four hours but can't go until he lifts that trophy.

gingercat02 · 05/05/2024 22:49

spottedinthewilds · 05/05/2024 22:53

GoogleWhacking · 05/05/2024 22:59

So happy to see Lando finally get a win!! And convincingly against Max. He was gaining on him each lap!! Maclaren upgrades seem pretty good!!!

goingdownfighting · 05/05/2024 23:02

Yes! Well done Lando!

I don't think anyone will begrudge him that trophy.

Looking forward to seeing what McLaren will do.
