Cricket for girls

Hello. Can I have some recommendations for great cricket clubs for older girls around Finchley area in North London? I am looking for county cricket opportunities so it will need to ve a good local team that has girls cricket teams for under 12, under 13 and under 15 years of age. Thank you.

I don't know about London but very few clubs have a Girls Team around where we are, sadly.

Any club with enough girls for girl only teams will provide opportunities for progression and key her into a girls cricket network .

Hi I don't live in your area but I do have a daughter who is 14 and is a county cricketer and absolutely loves it.

I would suggest you contact your county, is it Middlesex?, they will put tell you which clubs have girls teams in the age groups you are looking for.

That being said my daughter got into county cricket off the back of playing well in a boys team (well it was mixed because she played in it!), she still now plays for that same team 3 years on as well as playing for her county and a local women's team.

Good luck to your daughter, it is a fantastic sport for girls to be involved with.

Oh and I'm probably telling you what you already know, but just in case, girls teams are sometimes played with soft ball, if this is the case then this will not give county opportunities which are played hard ball, so you might want to clarify the point with a club that says it has girls teams.

North London Cricket Club club has a strong girls' section and offers training and competitive matches for various age groups, including under 12, under 13, and under 15. They have qualified coaches and participate in the Middlesex junior leagues
