Junior Golf

Does anyone have a DC that plays golf and competes in tournaments? I'm trying to learn about how do juniors compete and get ranked, etc? My DD is very sporty and recently started some lessons and seems to enjoy it, so we'd like to maybe get a bit more serious about it. Thanks for the advice.

Hi OP! Is your DD a member at a golf club? I play golf and have done since I was a child. I was a junior member at a club, we had our own junior competitions at the club and at other clubs which we got ranked in, tournaments and charity golf and we had a handicap too.

I'd say the first step is where is she having her lessons - at a driving range? With a golf pro attached to a club? Get her a junior membership if you can, it's usually fairly cheap and a great way to get into it. Then she can train there, and join in the junior events. She won't need super expensive clubs or kits to start with either, they normally sell second hand sets cheaply to start with (although I'm not going to lie, it's a fairly expensive adult hobby)!

Sign up for a club right away to get a lot of fun and enthusiasm from other members.
