Running shoe advice

Does anyone know anything about Brooks running shoes?
I need to replace my ancient Brooks Ghost G shoes as I've got back into running. Is there a direct replacement? I'm finding online info confusing.

I had a quick Google and am as confused as you are!

I think you might have to start from scratch, and search for current Brooks shoes road v trail, neutral v stability, amount of cushioning
