Any runners successfully recovered from patellar tendonitis?

5 months in and getting desperate. I have tried physio, tendon strengthening exercises, and restricting types of exercises that stress it. Zero progress, in fact at times it feels like it is getting worse. Has anyone any tips as I just want to be able to run about in the garden with the kids, rather than hobble along behind them Sad.

Shamelessly bumping as I have the same issue, although mine was caused by surgery following a broken leg. Have just started hydrotherapy and was able to do a pistol squat with no pain for the first time in the pool.
How are you getting on with yours now?

Bump in case any update or other experiences

There is a great squat I was taught which I credit with sorting mine.
You need a bench or low chair behind you, rest your foot on it, sole up so that there’s more or less a 90 degree bend in your leg and squat with your other leg
Also when you do a quad stretch, lean forwards slightly and push your foot into your hand so you’re opening up the angle slightly and getting more of a stretch

I ended up having 8 sessions of hydrotherapy and have been allowed to start running again this week. Still have some knee pain, still can’t pistol squat on the bad leg, but comfortably running for 15mins at a time and will build up by 2mins each week. Hope to be signed off from physio in July which will be 3 months sooner than they first thought.
