We've just booked a last minute family ski trip. The rest of the family are doing the usual downhill stuff. I'm going to try cross-country. Lost my nerve doing downhill and I'm a bit of a runner, so thought I could give it a try.
What would you say I need to wear? I've the usual downhill ski layers, but are they going to be too hot/bulky for cross-country?
Also, would you suggest I arrange lessons? Or just one? Is there quite a technique to master or would I just be ok to slip on the skis and head off?
Would really welcome any tips & advice. We're off to Courcheval, where I understand there is a reasonable set of marked routes.
