Hi there, is anyone able to recommend one? I'm overwhelmed by the choice out there and also had no idea how expensive they are? Is anyone able to recommend an affordable stick suitable for an adult beginner who has not played for years! Many thanks in advance!

Are you going to a training session at a club?

Usually the other players will lend you one for your first few weeks. You can then try out different sticks and work out which you like.

Ah, didn't realise this! Will do this! I'm totally new to club sports and haven't played in decades and need to do some exercise, so already a bit nervous about being rubbish! Didn't want to turn up to the trial without a hockey stick if I was expected to have one!

I’ve stopped playing Sad but if it were my old club, we welcome potential new players very warmly . Do you have a contact in the club that knows you’re turning up? Ask them.

Get in touch with the club. Most run back to hockey courses and they always have loads of sticks to borrow.

More important is to have your own shin pads !

And enjoy - hockey is a really friendly inclusive team sport Smile

Please dont let not having a stick put you off, players always have spares and they would much rather you go and borrow so you are joining in than worrying about buying a stick straight away.
Good luck, hockey is a great sport and all the clubs I have played for have always been really friendly .
