Hi
I'm thinking of taking my 6 month old to the local swimming pool, he is my first child so have never done this kind of thing, anyone got any tips or advice?
Regards

A 10- to 15-minute dip in the pool is the perfect way to introduce him to the water. After the first three or four times in the pool, you can work your way up to 20 to 30 minutes. When first starting out, keep your baby's face close to your own and keep eye contact while in the water. This will help your little one feel more secure. After swimming and when you are both dressed, get into the habit of giving baby a drink, as swimming is dehydrating.

Take the car seat in with you - dry and dress baby and then out in seat while you sort yourself out.

Enjoy the nice long nap after! Swimming knocks my DD out
