Hey all

First post on here I wondered if you could tell me at what age I can get my adopted son his first pair of skates

Thanks

Not sure on that one. Are you taking him to a local rink? Could you call them and ask if they hire them?

How old is he? My DDs go skating (this is DH's territory really, he's the one that takes them). DD1 is 5yo and has had proper skates for about 6 months maybe, DD2 has just turned 3 and is still in bob skates. We got them in Canada but you might be able to get them from a specialist skating shop.

They go to a pre-schooler session at the local rink and the coach says at this age the most important thing is building their confidence on the ice so sometimes they just run about with their shoes on instead of skating.

A lot of rinks do pre-schooler sessions so have a look on your local rink's website or give them a ring. There's bound to be a coach that you can chat to as well. HTH!
