Back into training for the AIDS/LifeCycle ride I did last year (San Francisco to LA in a week) and first post Christmas training ride tomorrow, any bike geeks about to chat all stuff biking over the coming months?

Any level any interest, just a gentle thread about messing about on bikes!

It went really well - so well I signed up again!!

How far is it? Sounds like quite a trek!

It's 545mikes but done over a week so while there's two century days the others are relatively short (though with bigger hills!) and it's so well organized and supported - there are inspiring people doing it, those into their 70's and 80's, people with full blown AIDS etc. it's a total love bubble .... Not everyone rides every mile but that's not really the point. I don't get the triathletes who sign up a week before and use it as a training exercise - I mean, I do, but a huge part of the experience is being part of it, not just riding into camp so quickly they haven't had time to set up the showers yet!!

Rather you than me, I think. But does sound like an amazing experience :)

High Brow I have a place on Ride London 100 in August so will have to do some serious training to speed up a bit. I am good at distance but slow up hills. Luckily London is mainly flat!

Today was the first sunny day after 10 days of mighty storms here so it was good to get out and ride 30 miles in the sun down the country lanes.

Are you in one of the cold parts of the US where the jet stream is freezing everybody?
