Diets for very active teens; how many eggs

KatyMac · 15/08/2013 16:54

DD has just 're-discovered' eggs after being a bit disinterested for a couple of years

So how many are healthy?

She is fit very active 18+ hours of exercise a week

Eggs are ace for protein

I'm a sports dietitian. Confirmation that eggs are fabulous! High value protein, don't worry about the cholesterol as it's not absorbed by the body. Your daughter is doing a lot of exercise, so it's fundamental to have a balanced diet with plenty of carbs, protein fruit and veg.

Ooo Foodgfood glad to have you to talk to

She keeps on about 'bad' food - I say food isn't bad it's quantities of food that make it bad, so pizza is fine 3 pizza a week is not I am right aren't I?

Also she is very carb dependent - should I reduce them?
