Can I DIY some mag sulph paste?

I’m sorry if this is a stupid question - I am no chemist! I have a massive boil on my mons pubis and a date next week which I would REALLY like it to be gone for. I went to a couple of pharmacies to ask for the Sporner Corner favourite, mag sulph paste, but both pharmacists told me it had been withdrawn from the market.

I have a bag of magnesium flakes for the bath (and am soaking in them now in the hope that this will pop the bugger). Can I mix some with water to make my own magnesium paste or is this a terrible idea?

Oh that’s annoying. I tried Superdrug and an independent but I didn’t go to Boots.

It went in the bath (and it was spectacular!) but I’ll try Boots to have it in for next time!

This is a bit grim 😬. I have an infected hair follicle down below and am currently on antibiotics. It’s still looking v red and angry (I’m on day 3/7 of the antibiotics). The nurse said I could try a magnesium sulphate solution to draw it out 🤢. Does that work??

It does @AvonCallingBarksdale if you can get hold of some. In the meantime I can highly recommend soaking in an Epsom salts bath.

How did the date go though?

Stay in the bath as long as you can and keep it fairly hot. It won’t take more than a gentle squeeze if it’s ready to go. Good luck!
