What bites are these?

Sorry if this is not the right group. Can anyone tell what has been biting my son?

The fact they're in clusters tells me they could be bed bug bites, speaking from experience.

My first thought was bed bugs too…

Argh! He came home from school with them and said they’re really itchy. From the size I thought mosquito but the fact they are in clusters made me wonder. We went on holiday 3 weeks ago. Could they be bed bugs from the hotel? I’ve checked his bed and can’t see anything.

Bed bug evidence is really hard to see. You need to look in the nooks and crannies of the mattress, behind the headboard. Anywhere there may be material. Look for little dots of red for blood and black for faeces.

Fleas frequently bite like that, if he's gotten an allergic reaction they will welt like that. Do you have animals?
Has he been rolling around on the grass or on a trampoline in a t-shirt or similar light clothes at early evening. Gnats / mozzies.

DS had these when playing on the grass. We think whatever it was got inside his t shirt. They cleared up quickly with antihistamine cream

Yeah, isn’t it often groups of 3 for bedbugs? I vaguely recall a saying about it being “breakfast, lunch and dinner”! So Sorry! It’s honestly one of my biggest fears!
