Is this a little wart or something else growing?

I can't get this to go away and it seems to be getting worse! It started with the nail looking like it was coming away or lifting at the edge so used fungal treatment for a few weeks, no difference. Then there was a small lump that I could pick off and it was like a little ball of skin inside. I've tried freezing it too and nothing gets it to go. I've put lots of cream to hydrate it and still the same. I can't see any black dots that would indicate a wart so I'm banking on your expertise to assist.
Ps if a chiropodist and podiatrist deal with feet, who deals with everything hand and nail health? X

Looks like it could be a whitlow, see your gp or pharmacy if you need it treated

I've never heard of that, thank you i will look that up. I wasn't sure if it was a periungal wart.

Looks like some sort of damage from the manicure...are they gels? The acetone always used to dry my skin and make it hard. Or could it be an allergy to the gel polish?

Fungal maybe manicures/pedicures can be a source of loads of fungus, bacteria and virus. I am paranoid though as I worked in infection control!

Could just be an irritation to the nail stuff.

Thank you for the replies, I had it before I started to get my nails done again so it's definitely not the gel. I've put some Bazuca on it last night and I'll try that again before the GP. X
