It's been around 2 months when I first noticed this on my back, noticed it as went for a massage and I could feel it. Tried sorting it out self at home but DH said it looked like it had already been done as had a sort of scabby looking part in the middle.

Anyway, 2 months on and it's still there, I've left it alone all this time and just had DH checking to see it it heals / gets a head on it. It does feel like it's gotten bigger in that time and is certainly more painful

Please get your GP to take a look @Crumplesock

Anything that doesn't heal needs to be checked OP.

BettyBardMacDonald · 28/12/2024 15:15

Could it be a spider bite? I had one that took ages to heal.

Crumplesock · 29/12/2024 22:34

It's skin cancer, cannot believe how quickly I was seen and diagnosed. Just waiting for an op now and some further checks on other areas.

Goodness. What a shock for you! Hope you get treatment quickly

BettyBardMacDonald · 29/12/2024 22:48

Oh gosh; I'm glad you had a fast response. Best wishes; the treatments nowadays are amazing.

LoafofSellotape · 29/12/2024 23:28

I'm so pleased you were seen so fast,I was too . Mine just looked like a spot that literally came up overnight and kept bleeding and wouldn't scab over and heal. Not what is think of skin cancer at all. Best of luck with the op x

Mumdiva99 · 31/12/2024 03:03

Thank goodness you have been seen. I just saw this thread and was coming on to say to see GP urgently.

I'd say I cannot fault the NHS on this but actually it's a private practice that my GP referred me to that they then fund. Op on the 3rd.

Told a few close relatives and my employer, ofc first question is "do you not use sun cream them?" And "bet you are annoyed at yourself that you let yourself burn all those summers". Yes, ofc I am but I was also a child and a teenager who constantly wanted a tan because I was always called a ghost and laughed at by my family for being so pale, always told my pale skin was ugly and blinded people and I needed a tan. Took me going away to university and mixing with people away from my family to accept my skin and start using sun cream regularly. Have religiously stayed covered up and not attempted to get a tan since I was 19/20.

I burnt a couple of times a child but not where I got skin cancer . I'm in my 50s now and all my friends and family were stunned as I'm like a vampire,I hate the sun and never sit in it so haven't had a tan for the last 35 years BUT I did live abroad in my twenties so maybe that did it.
