Firstly, apologies for no photos but it’s in a borderline intimate place.
I have been managing a huge infected cyst at home for the last few days (about the diameter of an old 50p and quite mountainous). On a 7-day course of fluclox which finishes tonight. I’ve had regular GP phone appointments during which I’ve sent photos but not seen anyone face to face. GP has felt it’s ok to continue treating at home, which has surprised me somewhat as the fucking thing is/ was ginormous. Anyway over the past couple of days it’s been weeping pink creamy stuff like mad. I have a dressing on that I’m having to change every couple of hours as it soaks through. Then an hour ago I was changing the dressing and there was a huge ball of solid white stuff in the hole. I squeezed it out (it was amazing, I can’t lie) - like a whole dairylea triangle’s worth. So now
i have a huge gaping hole. I’ve cleaned it and put antiseptic on it and a clean dressing. But it’s quite big (maybe the diameter of an earring back? And looks quite deep). I can’t get another gp appointment til tomorrow, and she did say only to get it looked at if it didn’t drain on its own, so you reckon I just leave it? Will the hole just close up on its own in time? I’m feeling fine and no longer in pain, I just want expecting the Grand Canyon 😬😬
