Will not give up! I have tried everything! My latest was one of those foot peel masks - hence the peely foot. It’s actually painful now and I’m fed up

Bazooka, then cover with duct tape, then bandage. Leave on for six days. Take off, shower and soak, overnight with nothing. Repeat. After three weeks the most stubborn of DD’s verrucas came out. The army uses duct tape apparently!

The most important thing is to file every day which it doesn't look like you're doing. Bazooka and file.

I would get this professionally treated, is that and option?

I’ve looked you know and the quotes I’ve had are just too much sadly

This stuff sorted it out for me: Caustic pencil silver... www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004OX9P6Y?ref=ppxpopmobapshare

File it first, paint the whole thing and cover with a plaster until it dries, that's just because it will stain anything it touches. Bazooka did nothing for us but this stuff (recommended by my podiatrist MIL) was amazing.

Ohfuckrucksack · 27/10/2024 12:13

Give up and file it flat so it's less painful?

I have one that has lasted over 10 years despite throwing every treatment known to man at vast cost and effort at it.

The more I did to it, the bigger it got.

I'm told one day it will go away when my body notices it, but I'll believe it when I see it.

But you have tons of dry skin, what do you file with, maybe you need to change what you're using?

i Did a foot peel mask hence the skin. My foot doesn’t normally look so gross- minus the veruca

Have you tried nail varnish??

LoafofSellotape · 27/10/2024 12:49

But you still have loads of dry skin despite the peel, get in there with the file! 😂

lurker2003 · 27/10/2024 13:04

Sounds crazy but I had one similar to yours and I got a witch hazel spot stick from superdrug https://www.superdrug.com/skin/face-skin-care/anti-blemish-treatments/witch-naturally-clear-blemish-stick-10g/p/678631

Just completely covered it and it was gone within a week somehow!

FatFilledTrottyPuss · 27/10/2024 13:06

My husband had a verruca so much worse that this that he’s just recently managed to get rid of just by taping it up. He gave up on bazooca as nothing was happening and bought this waterproof tape and covered the verruca with it instead, it’s taken a fair few months but suddenly the verucca is gone.
His foot had been starting to look like a tree stump and now it’s just normal, duct tape works the same way I believe, I think you’re just starving it of oxygen and eventually it drops off or something.

Gettingbysomehow · 27/10/2024 13:09

It's in the perfect place for dry needling. That will get rid of it. I used to do this treatment as a private podiatrist. It worked every time. Not available on NHS sadly.⁰

Bestyearever2024 · 27/10/2024 13:10

It's about denying it oxygen. My neice used duct tape very successfully

Trouble is, yours is big and will probably be deep, so the oxygen denying will take ages

Freeze it off?

With one of those freeze pens?

Your GP can refer you to a dermo I think

Crojo · 27/10/2024 14:41

I find filing them encourages them to spread. Cuticle clippers work well for cutting away the dead skin. I had success with nail varnish on my DD's stubborn one. Make sure it's completely covered and sealed, it will dry it up, then each night clip away the old varnish and dead skin, then reapply. It quickly went brown and dried up, eventually dying completely.
The original Bazuka gel is also good, I find that works much better than the extra strength version.

YellowphantGrey · 27/10/2024 15:37

I've got one. Had it for 6 years now. Been told it will only go when my body realises there's a foreign body there and reject it. I go once a month where the podiatrist makes it bleed to see if the body rejects it.

All over counter treatments haven't worked

Duct tape hasn't worked

Nail polish doesn't work

Podiatrist couldn't remove it, had 10 sessions of acid, didn't budge and one laser treatment at £2500, still hasn't gone

I'm now at the point where I'm now having treatment with physio for my hips and back because i can't weight bear on my foot. It's on the sole of my foot so I walk on the side of my foot now

It feels like a rock hard lump, like a stone in my shoe

Gettingbysomehow · 27/10/2024 15:58

It will go away on its own eventually even if you do nothing, they always do.

I hope so. Almost coming into my 7th year of mine and it sticks out in a semi circle, about 1cm from my skin!

This. My son had one for months. It finally went after bazooka and file daily.

Tulipvase · 27/10/2024 16:11

My daughter had one years ago and it went when she had an accident (I can’t remember what) and basically sliced it off.

c3pu · 27/10/2024 16:15

My son's feet were covered in the most stubborn verrucas I'd ever come across. Months of bazuka and duct tape did nothing.

Eventually the GP prescribed some concentrated salicylic acid for them, I was sceptical... After a month they looked fairly gnarly still, but when the stuff ran out and we stopped treating them the feet healed and they were all back to normal for the first time in years.

Gcsunnyside23 · 27/10/2024 17:46

My daughter had a massive one and nothing worked except using cotton wool soaked in apple cider vinegar for half an hour for a week (or something like that, Google for accurate way to do it) but it worked, left a huge hole in her toe when it fell out
