I think I have a cyst on top of my cyst (pics)

So I’ve had a fairly standard pilar cyst slowly growing on my head for a few years now. About six months ago it got a tiny lump on top of the main cyst and a couple of days ago that smaller lump got bigger, hotter and squishy. The main cyst has stayed rock solid- the pics don’t really do that part justice as it’s the same colour as my scalp but it’s about four fingers wide.

DH has kindly agreed to have a go on the upper cyst with a sterilised needle later to relieve the pressure as it’s getting quite sore. Will update!

Sensational efforts.

I had similar last year. It erupted like a unicorn horn in my head and it could not be hidden under my hair. It was actually agony so went to the GP and I was referred for hospital surgery. It popped once and the relief was amazing. It did refill and regrow within a couple of weeks though. The night before my surgery to have it removed, I was having a gentle look and with barely touching it the skin burst and the entire sack flew out my head with force, hit the mirror with a thud and landed in my open make up bag. It was disgusting and awesome in equal measures. Hospital said it was unlikely to regrow since it looked like the sack came out but they kept me on their books to monitor over the following months in case I needed the surgery after all so worth keeping an eye on it and definitely keep your GP appointment. I do genuinely still think of my popping cyst often. It's now well healed other than a bit of a hole/scar where it was and my hair has regrown quite well.

Bonus round! It came to a head overnight and basically exploded when I touched it this morning. Feeling hugely better although disappointed I didn’t have a glass bottle to hand 😂

Great going OP.

I once had a cyst on the back of my head pressing on a nerve (it was gave me a headache for 3 days), it was sooo painful! It wouldn't come out by squeezing it, so I lanced it with a sewing needle, and then I found a plastic syringe we had lying around, and so cut the needle end off it so it was about 1/2 cm in diameter suction tube, and suctioned it out. It took a bit of suctioning, first time only a tiny amount of pus came out, but the second time it exploded and half-filled the syringe! It was glorious!

Targeted advertising suggests going at it with a Bosch drill 😁

Thought it was pretty much done as it has shrunk so much but had a look at it today and it exploded with an actual river of pus down the back of my head! Also pulled out a chunk of tissue which is hopefully part of the sac. Alas no pictures as it took me by a surprise

I had a cyst near my front hairline, which developed a huge spot on top of it

Foolishly, I tried popping the spot and sent the infection down into my cyst

Two round of antibiotics later, I'm 'milking' pus out of the cyst whenever it got sore on a regular basis (about 2 to 3 times a day)

One day, I'm 'milking' the pus, when something popped out of my head that looked like a bug's face

Freaked out, I tried to get a hold of it, but it was too wet and slimy

It took a while, but I finally found a way of pressing down with one hand and catching the 'bug' with a pair of tweezers

On pulling, the pain was awful, but I pulled out what looked like a lump of gristle, quite possibly the cyst wall in a one inch ribbon, the 'bug's face' could physically fit to the other end

The scar that remains is just a white line hidden in my hair

Thank you so much for this
