Boil? Infected hair? Help!

Sorry, I know this is gross 😷
I’ve got this spot/lump/boil on my pubic area. It’s tender to touch and I’m aware of it when walking/sitting. I had to leave the gym early this morning as it was irritating me too much. I’ve had a hot shower and put some savlon on as it was all I had. Any advice?

If it's on a hair, pull the hair out that may relieve it, if it comes to a head I would pop it. Savlon should help.

Are you sure it's not a bite, I've had the odd insect bite down there and they are really painful.

@CabbagesAndCeilingWax I’ve just done a quick Google search and it doesn’t seem to match up with that, it seems more like a boil or ingrown hair maybe?

@twomanyfrogsinabox I guess it could be, it’s very red and tender 😖

Hi

This looks like Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS).

Wash your body with Hibiscrub and consider taking turmeric supplements. You can also mix some turmeric powder and honey, apply it on the boil and then put a cotton pad or gauze. The turmeric will stain. Spandex/control knickers will help keep the cotton pad in place. Change twice a day. It should get better in 7 days but won't disappear totally though it will fade and get smaller. Popping it is not a good idea due to infection risk. Try to boost your immune system by eating better and reducing stress.

Ice or warmth mighy help though never apply directly on skin, always have somr fabric as barrier and do not fall asleep with it on as it can burn.

@Brussels88 how big is it? I’m currently dealing with something similar. I’ve been on antibiotics but something is definitely growing down there!
