Hi all. Ive also posted in general health but no replies as yet and need to stop my mind going crazy.

I'm sorry in advance as I know this is ridiculous and I know I'll get flamed as this is mumsnet. I have OCD so my worries/fears/ridiculousness all stems from that. I've had verrucas in the past and didn't have any breakdowns like I feel I'm doing now!

If you have a verruca, how do you walk around your home? Barefoot? Socks? Flip flops? What do you do when you get out the shower? Verruca to the floor? Flip flops again? If it touches the floor do you disinfect the floor? Do you live alone or with others.. do they catch them?

I have one for sure on one foot. This was manageable and I could manage not putting the verruca part of my foot on the floor. Now I think I've got one one the other foot. Not 100% but treating it like it is. I now can't avoid having one of them touching the floor! I've cried basically all evening trying to get ready after my shower. I don't know what to do but I know if I hear stories of others I can try and reassure myself.

About every 10 years or so I get a verruca. So does DP (not usually at the same time).

We don't take any special precautions with the floor or anything. I wear shoes all the time in the house, DP wears socks or flip-flops.

A verruca is annoying, but it's a wart, not Ebola.

I had about four verrucas on one foot for 6 or 7 years. We didn't take any special precautions and my husband never caught any. They actually went away after I used bleach and water to clean the bathroom floor and stepped in it barefoot ha.

I think that you just wearing socks inside and/or your partner or guests wearing house slippers and shower flip-flops would be enough if you're feeling nervous about it :)

Put bazuka extra strength on it. It forms a watertight seal around verrucas so they're not contagious. You just peel off and reapply every day

Thank you @Hotchocolate92 @mushypaperstraws and @samarrange . I know normal people live with it and 'it's not ebola' but there's no reasoning with my OCD! I am back trying the Bazuka and Thuja tablets that I've heard lots about. Whether they work or not who knows!

Apply Thuja tincture directly to them as well, more effective than bazuka but doesn't make a waterproof seal.

Duct tape

It’s part of a method of getting rid of them (see above) but it should also really help with your OCD because the verrucas are constantly covered up. It’s also cheap!

@FoxtrotOscarKindaDay thanks, I will look at getting some!

@Prawncow I do you duct tape but change it daily.. my ocd wouldn't let it get wet and keep it on!
