Holes in my elbow

Fell off my bike and somehow ended up with multiple small but rather deep cuts/ holes in my elbow (down to the bone). Folks on my keep-me-company-in-A&E thread in Chat wanted pics, so i thought I'd share here too. Hope it brings you more joy than it has me so far!

Bloody hell, that looks painful! Do be careful with it, OP - I had a similar injury a few years ago (an incident with a doorhandle, don't ask) and ended up with a forearm like Popeye due to cellulitis,which was more painful than the actual injury.

Saw the pic before I read the text and thought this must be one of those threads asking for tips on what the holes might be. Burrowing parasite or flesh-eating virus was going to be my diagnosis.

Thanks all. It's surprisingly OK as long as I don't move it too much! I now have 6 stitches and am waiting to be discharged home.

It's like a little frowny face with a hat on top! You're going to be sore for a bit, but I hope you have a speedy recovery.

Yikes! I've had IV antibiotics and have been given a course of ABs to take home so hopefully I'll manage to avoid infection!

You'll be fine, OP. I was idiotic and didn't go to A&E, just tried to treat it myself. I ended up going to the GP (back in happier times when appointments were actually available) and getting a course of antibiotics anyway. The only plus was a week off work!

Eek! Unfortunately I can't milk this for time off work as I'm a teacher - it's just spoiling my holidays😩

Have just knocked my elbow (managed not to for 4 days). 1/10 would not recommend
