Is this toenail going to fall off?

I had what I suspect was a bout of gout 2 weeks ago and now my toe is doing this. It hurts :( any advice?

I do also have a fungal toenail infection I've been treating but it was very nearly gone prior to goutgate, so all the brown shading is new...

That’s an infection not gout

You have a savage infection.

You might lose it, but that might not be the worst thing.

Give it a good wash then get an emergency GP appointment tomorrow.

Really? I'd have thought it would be more swollen and horrible if infected with anything bacterial. It did swell up properly 2 weeks ago and then went back down by bedtime, it was very shortlived. I've done runs and 5 mile walks on it since then without being actively uncomfortable....

When I say it hurts, I should clarify that it's more of a burning sensation than anything more acute.

I see gouty toes a lot. It does look like gout, you can see if the toenail is coming off by gently lifting it with a file. Im a bit concerned there is gout tophi leaking under that nail, it doesn't look fungal to me. Gout tophi is white which could mean there is an ulcer or lesion under there.
Quite honestly I'd go and see a podiatrist or get a GP referral asap.
Gout often does look like an infection because it leaves the toe hot and bright red you can only diferentiate by taking a swab.
