I got this lump under both armpits the one on my right arm is almost gone but the one on my left arm burst on Sunday evening, it had yellow pus, blood etc and was very painful so I rang out of hours Doctor. Who prescribed antibiotics they started me on Flucloxacillin on Monday but I wanted to get it checked by a Doctor in person as there was no change, ended up going to A&E on Friday as I couldn't get a normal appointment. Anyway first Doctor said continue with Flucloxacillin then ring my GP in the middle of next week, then he mentioned taking obs he then said his superior wanted to take a look. She takes a look then says she is referring me to SDEC (Same Day Emergency Care) so I go over there, they take bloods after 3 attempts 😭 then I see a surgeon who says she thinks it needs drained but most likely in theatre under sedation 😳 but to wait for the blood test results. 2 hours later I see another surgeon who says I have some options I can have it drained with numbing injections, or under sedation or I can try a stronger antibiotic Co-Amoxiclav then he will call me on Monday to see how things are going. I chose option 3 spent Friday night throwing up after taking the first Co-Amoxiclav felt off Saturday but managed to not throw up, bit better today but still not 100% the lumps still not gone down it has now gone a bit purple though. Using heat packs hurts so not been able to do it much, I will say in advance I'm not sticking a needle or anything in it learned the hard way on that one a few years ago.

The one without my hand in the photo is the most recent photo, so the right side one.

It does look like it is getting better, hopefully the Dr tomorrow can give you more advice.

I also have this and had a very similar lump
Had it drained under GA after antibiotics didn't work

Was supposed to be going into Hospital this morning to get it assessed, they mentioned something about nil by mouth on the phone so I'm guessing they were planning on knocking me out for the procedure. Sadly I got Covid on my last trip to the Hospital no wonder I've been feeling so crap 🙄 so now I just have to keep up with the antibiotics & let them know when I'm Covid free.

That's frustrating, I hope the abx keep working.
