Hi everyone, went walking in the woods last week, and this has appeared on my stomach. It feels very hard, and very sore! Have been putting fusidic acid on it, but with no improvement. Any recommendations for treatment? My jeans keep rubbing on it! Thank you!

I would love to say "squeeze it and video the result" but in a more serious mood I would say if it is in a place that you can show a pharmacist do that, and buy what he or she recommends.

Covidwoes · 15/04/2024 17:35

Haha unfortunately @NotTooOldPaul nothing is coming out! I'll show a pharmacist tomorrow. It's more the pain that's bothering me than anything else. It's so tender.

That looks more like a hernia to me than anything poppable!

olympicsrock · 15/04/2024 17:39

Can you post a better picture ? It’s pretty blurry

Covidwoes · 15/04/2024 17:43

@Haggisfish3 definitely not a hernia. Probably the bad pic!

@olympicsrock this is a photo taken from further away. The close up photos are all quite blurry and not great.

Might it be a sting? I would try some antihistamine cream and see if that calms it down.

Covidwoes · 15/04/2024 18:09

@Nellieinthebarn good shout! It isn't itchy, but definitely worth trying antihistamine cream. What's bizarre is that it's rock hard!

Yes, that looks like a large bite or sting to me. I'd try antihistamine and TCP.

Covidwoes · 15/04/2024 19:37

Thanks @Meadowfinch. 11 years ago I ended up under GA getting an infected bite dealt with, so I'm very wary of it happening again! Will visit the pharmacy tomorrow.

Potentially a tick bite, see the GP.

Covidwoes · 15/04/2024 20:39

Thanks @Bovrilla. I did check for ticks, but definitely worth checking. I'll go to the pharmacy first, then go from there.
