Milia?? HOW TO GET RID OF THE BASTARD?

I’ve had what looks like a whitehead on side of nose for months. Recent attempts to end the fucker have resulted in bleeding & scabbing yet, lo, the bastard remains when scabs are long gone. My googling tells me this is likely a milia not a simple whitehead with lovely, satisfying pus in. (Altho’ only one, not a cluster)

Sporners, how do I get rid? It’s war now.

You have to stick a pin in it and make a bit of a hole. Then it should pop out

hexsnidgett · 27/07/2023 07:34

Do they ever go away on their own? I have one near my eye and I keep putting of dealing with it, but think it might be time.

igetwhatyoumean · 27/07/2023 07:36

I have one on my eyelid and I can't get it. I'd ask for help but I don't trust my OH with a pin near my eye!

itendswithus · 27/07/2023 07:47

Ah they are absolute bastards aren't they! I've got a big one next to my eye and one on my eyelid. I have tried and failed to get them. The pain! I've got rid of ones on my nose before now, it's if you can get the angle right!

I looked online to see if I could get the one at the side of my eye removed professionally but it's not cheap, so for now it stays!

CashmereDarling · 27/07/2023 07:49

I had one on the inner corner of my eye, looked like a permanently had a blob of eye gunk there.
I went to a professional clinic to have it removed and got a new customer offer, so it wasn't too £££.

Lalabright23 · 27/07/2023 07:52

I get them every now and again around my eyes. I use the clinique clarifying lotion (I use the purple one). It's like an exfoliator and using it once a day, at night time, after washing my face and before applying moisturiser, within a couple of weeks they are gone. The bottle obviously says "avoid eye area" but to be honest, a quick sweep around the eyes doesn't do any harm (or it hasn't in the years I've used it!).

Thank you! I have that Clinique toner so I’ll
try that first. I’m v tempted to stick in a pin in it. It’s currently all red & inflamed from last night’s efforts to get rid, so lookin goooorgeous.

It's so hard not to pick at them! I hope it works for you anyway 🤞

Imdrivinginmygetawaycar · 27/07/2023 20:45

I have these I think top of cheeks/under eye but they seem to raise/appear when I'm got or goodness knows when and then dissappear a while later.

But in the same place. I'd love to make them go. Normally a fan of the needle but not near my eye!

MissHoollie · 27/07/2023 20:47

Oh I had a fab one for years on my upper eye lid .
Picked and squeezed and one day it just popped out
A complete solid white circle like a bouncy ball

MaybeBabyTwo · 27/07/2023 20:49

I always snip the top of mine with nail clippers 😳 and they just pop out. So irritating!!!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 27/07/2023 20:51

Hot wash cloth keep it on for about 5 minutes.

Sterilise a needle and gently nick the top off/make a hole. Use fingers wrapped in tissue to squeeze it out. Ice it afterwards.

I'm so good,I don't even leave a mark 🤣

StGertrude · 27/07/2023 20:57

I do my own. Sterilise a needle, gently hook the very top layer of skin and make an opening. It should then pop right out.

LittleBrownJug · 27/07/2023 23:16

Inspring, @MrsPelligrinoPetrichor & @StGertrude . When it’s calmed down from last night’s efforts I’ll have a go with a needle. I’ll throw a party if I can get rid of it, it’s annoying me so much.

I had one on my eyelid.

I had a facial one day and they left the steamer on that side of my face for longer than usual. Went home, rubbed my eye and out it popped!

Very satisfying.

Please keep us updated op 😉

Archeron · 28/07/2023 00:13

Popping with a needle is the best solution. One time I tried and failed to pop a whitehead. It scabbed from poking it, and when I peeled the scab off there was a perfect ball shaped whitehead stuck to the back of it. So satisfying!

RosaBaby2 · 28/07/2023 11:55

I have one on my top eyelid and one on my inner eye (where we put eyeliner in the 00's) it looks like a stye it is SO ANNOYING.

Netaporter · 29/07/2023 19:04

@LittleBrownJug Paula’s choice AHA often helps get rid of Milia

LittleBrownJug · 30/07/2023 07:02

I think I've got the little bastard. The Clinique toner looked like it was doing the job & shrinking it, but I could still see it underneath the redness. So I lost patience; sterilised my tweezers in alcohol & had at it. There was blood. But I think I got it. If it dares pop up again it's the needle next.

But ... I'm staying at my parent's house with an excellent magnifying mirror in the bathroom. I can now see a few more smaller ones on the other side of my nose & some around my eyes. AGHHHHHH. I've tonered my entire face. This is it, this is my summer project.
