Lipoma removal *gross picture*

I have what I realise is a lipoma on my lip which I keep biting and it's really annoying.

Just wondering if there's any other option to get rid than expensive surgical removal?

It doesn't hurt unless I do bite it, but then it really really does and it seems to be getting bigger slowly, so I'm biting it more and more.

Posters will be disappointed as no pic 🤔🙈

Suzi, you are so right. I’m waiting for it.

Op have you spoken to the GP? I know they don’t often remove lipoma on the NHS (assuming U.K.) but they may if it’s on the face and you are at risk of causing yourself an injury through biting it.

Ah crap. That'll teach me to try to multi task. Here it is

I haven't asked GP as I assumed it would be judged too small and insignificant for NHS

I have a craft knife and a tube of Dr Numb, where you at? 😂😂😂

You might get it removed on the NHS if it’s getting in the way of eating. Definitely worth asking your GP.
Who told you it’s a lipoma though? It’s an unusual place for one.

LipomaBiter · 18/03/2023 20:04

Honestly - I've self diagnosed it as a lipoma having watched a few of the dr pimple
Popper and similar. I guess I should bother the doc and go from there.

Go to the dentist with it. They don't just do teeth.

Go see the gp or ask for text to respond with that photo.
They should refer you to dermatologist and get it removed. Say you keep biting on it. Also they will want to check it’s not nothing dodgy.

I had a lump in my mouth, the dentist referred me to the local dental hospital. I had an initial appointment with the consultant a couple of weeks later, then an appointment to remove it and a follow up to remove the stitches and then another appointment to give me the biopsy results. I was really impressed by all that!
