He's going for micro suction to remove ear wax this afternoon and refusing to either let me come or film the monitor while they do it. I could cry, I might ltb On a side note I've been looking for a career change and the clinic he's going to runs training courses, maybe his ear getting blocked is a sign?

My mum once had a really sore ear, so we bought a thing off amazon. This massive black lump of ear wax came out and I wretched so hard, it was impressive 😂😂

I think you've misunderstood, he definitely doesn't object to me being present for his medical procedures (I had to train the man to shit with the door closed ffs), he is purposely refusing to let me watch and laughing his head off at my frustration and disappointment. I am also laughing, posts like yours make me ever more glad I have a sense of humour x

I took adult ds (SN) for it. It wasn't like Audiology associates on you tube, I couldn't see anything at all as the screen was so blurry. You're really won't miss anything!! (It was better when the GP did syringing!)

It was indeed disappointing They didn't hook the screen up in the end, just used a tiny camera attached to a phone. What emerged however disappointed no one, it was enormous!! Even the audiologist said he'd never seen the like, I'm strangely proud (by proxy) and can confirm DH is firmly back in favour, and also much relieved in the ear department. So all's well that ends well, and I am seriously considering the course

Did your DH have to do any prep like oil softening before he went in for the procedure?

The place we went to didn't actually ask but yes he had, just olive oil a couple of times a day for a fortnight.

Thank you. I do need to get organised and sort it, I'm virtually deaf in one ear. I'll get some olive oil today and crack on.

DH is like a new man, he said the relief when it came out was indescribable and seeing what they extracted I'm not bloody surprised! He hasn't been able to hear on that side for over a week and says everything sounds too loud now, especially me as I've been having to shout to make him hear me and haven't quite managed to break the habit yet

DH wouldn't let me take any He doesn't really understand my fascination (or obviously he wouldn't have tormented me by saying I couldn't go with him to begin with) and photo's were a bridge too far for him. I'm trying not to think less of him for it but it's hard.
