I've just been binge watching Doc Martin and one episode showed him pulling out something exactly the same from a patients nose.

Oh I’ll have to look for that episode. A bit of Googling tells me it’s unlikely and it’s just hardened sinus mucus but it’s very sac shaped. I do have a headache now but in fairness I put all my effort into that nose blow 😂

I had one like that once but it was mucus that had gone hard. The feeling was epic though, like a huge release of pressure. Never had it again sadly :(

There was a post a while back. The polyp looked like a tiny baby octopus!

You can blow out polyps but that isn't one, that's hard mucus as others have suggested.

Nothing to dissect sadly @GizaBiza it was dried up and flat to the tissue this morning. Sadly, as suspected it was just a really disgustingly hard bit of mucus. Boo.

Haddawayandshite….. as a long time sufferer of nasal polyps I can safely say that IS a polyp! Unfortunately it’s probably just the end piece of one & there’s still loafs of the inflamed tissue still up your snout!
I’ve tried everything to cure these (short of surgery) including inhaled steroids, salt water sniffing, methi pots, god knows how many vitamins…no help at all! The only think that helps is oral steroids (prednisalone) but doctor won’t prescribe these long term.
My little buggers react really badly to alcohol- half a glass of wine & im sneezing 19 to the dozen & have a severe running nose for the next 24 hours.
wishing you luck that yours is a short term problem …they’ve been the bain of my life for decades! Xx

I should probably see a doctor because I do have a bit of a pain today and I do have a lot of bother with my sinuses getting blocked and nose breathing in general. I’m just a chronic doctor avoider.

Thanks for the info. It’s a shame you have so much bother with them. Do you think you would consider surgery? I don’t really know much about polyps tbh.

I had nasal polyps removed by surgery years ago and a deviated septum put right. It was worth it.

I'm on the waiting list for this. I had the operation before but need it again. It was awful, I hated it. I hope it's more successful this time

Good that you are on the waiting list. After ny operation there was a lot of nosy stuff coming out, did you have that?

I get infections in my sinus every winter, just had course of antibiotics

@Calling it was 30 years ago. I can remember some really big bits of crusty stuff being pulled out!

I remember the packing being removed as the worst thing ever but I was young at the time. It also never healed so for 30 years my nose has bled daily.

I've just blown one out this morning. This is how I've found your post! Thought it was a polyp but looks like I've found the answer. I can finally breathe too!! 😌

I've blown 2 of these out in the last two weeks since using a steroid spray for a sinus infection! The first one I thought was a little odd looking when I blew my nose but then it happened today and I had to Google it! Ended up here obvs.
Definitely not just hard mucus, they had like a "skin" or membrane, and the little dangly bit where it was connected to the blood vessels. Weird as fuck but I too can breathe again! I hope it lasts. Maybe there's more 😱

Only commenting since I'm researching this. Anyways photo shows hard mucus on the right and polyps on the left. Should say singular polyp, blew that little fuck out today thought my nose fell off. Don't do drugs kids. Shit like this stays with you for life.

I thought I had dust mites up my nose causing me to blow out scary shit out my nose!! Now I see pics of these same of what I have ,,Never dealt with polyps ,,It seems to be a cycle this has tore up my sinus cavity,,How to get rid of this?? Anyone know,,My Dr.act like I'm out of my mind,Cuz of the pictures I show her of them .

I have been trying to get an answer of what feels like even on allergy meds my nose will be full like 8+ hrs per day clear mucus then I could feel a blockage and this what I thought was a dust mite that moved in my sinuses
