Hello.

My daughter has had this wretched verucca for months now.

Can someone tell me if it's "over" now? I think I've got all the black roots out.

Shall I do another round of bazucca? Plasters?

Help.

Anyone? Desperately trying to decide if I should put more treatment on it.

I’d keep treating the bastard until it had completely gone. Kick it whilst it’s down!

TeddyBeans · 30/11/2022 19:15

It still looks rather lumpy to me. I know warts and verrucas aren't exactly the same but when I treated my wart it was completely smooth before it was 'gone' and didn't come back again

katieg03 · 30/11/2022 19:16

My son had a stubborn one of these. I put a corn plaster on it for a few days and it literally slid out from the roots. Ghastly thing but so satisfying it was really hurting him

tickticksnooze · 30/11/2022 19:17

Verrucas don't have roots. It's dried blood.

coffeeneeded · 30/11/2022 19:25

Ok- so it's not gone yet. Good to know.

Bloody horrid thing though. I'm completely clueless with it

That’s still alive and kicking… my DD had a horrific one, only thing that actually works is getting them frozen off by a professional… was gone and left a massive hole in her foot after 1 treatment! Well worth it..

stayathomegardener · 30/11/2022 19:31

When it's really dead the whole thing will just come away and leave a crater, it's currently just teasing you.

Keep going!

ImissSclub7 · 30/11/2022 19:32

I got rid of one with banana skin taped to foot on a night and tea tree oil applied daily. I sound absolutely nuts I know but it worked.

ErinAoife · 30/11/2022 19:34

I have a stubborn warts on my finger and no amount if bazzuca and going to doctor to get it freeze got rid of it. The only thing that succeed to get rid of it was apple cider vinegar. I spent a fortune on treatment when a simple bottle of Apple cider vinegar costing £ 5 did the trick

coffeeneeded · 30/11/2022 20:20

So do you file it down or pick at it at all or just wait for it to go?

Stop wasting your time with bazucca. Seriously, just put a piece of duck tape over it (sealed well) and leave it on for a week. If it has to come off to shower etc then replace it immediately after. It should be gone within a well or 2.

Essentially you starve it of oxygen and it falls out. That ones got loads of life in it.

User0ne · 30/11/2022 20:30

Well should read week

ErinAoife · 01/12/2022 05:40

Jusy for it to go, it will takes some time

That's how we got rid of my daughters. It only took about a week. The skin sort of lifted up around it and we were able to just peel it all out. Found Bazuca that Verruca a bit useless in comparison.

Goatsanddogs · 01/12/2022 06:01

Don’t pick at a verruca it may spread to your fingers and you will get warts (same virus).

boredsolicitor · 01/12/2022 06:10

another vote for banana skin taped on with duct tape . crazy but got rid of my dds verucca after months of faff with brazil's to no effect

Annexlife · 01/12/2022 21:22

Does the banana trick work in a wart too?

peplepue · 01/12/2022 21:27

We took my daughter to a podiatrist in the end when she had one like that, that just wouldn't budge. They gave us some ointment which unfortunately I can't remember the name of and it went quickly after that.

Drbrowns · 01/12/2022 23:23

I had one on the ball of my foot, so painful I could barely walk. I got it frozen by the doc twice and in between I used gluturol wart paint on it. Used a corn knife to slice the top of and kept painting it. Think the combination of the two worked on it. Such a relief when it was gone.

Cuppsoupmonster · 01/12/2022 23:57

Yep apple cider vinegar for me as well. Then duct tape over the top. It will STING and go black and fall out. Then keep at it for a few days to make sure every last trace of the fucker is gone!

Samanabanana · 16/12/2022 20:55

Get some duct tape on it! Works a treat.

LpPp · 31/12/2022 19:31

My daughter had loads of veruccas for years… like a cluster. Tried everything… from bazuka, GP, duct take to walking around with a banana skin and a tomato taped to her foot.
eventually I took her to a podiatrist, a weird private clinic in the back room off the kitchen in a house. She said she can’t freeze them off as too many. All she could recommend was my daughter going into a quiet room and shouting at them, telling them to leave her body. She had to do it herself apparently and it had to sound angry.

Then she charged me £25.

As a last resort, and in hope of not feeling like I had just put £25 down the toilet and flushed it, I told her to try it. Almost as a joke.

I KID YOU NOT… in one week they were ALL GONE!!!!!!

Bestcatmum · 31/12/2022 19:34

Verrucas don't have roots. Those black dots are blood vessels, if they are prolific the verruca is active. If they are almost gone it's healing. Expensive topical treatments are a waste of money. I just tape them.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 01/01/2023 10:28

Are you filing every other day? I used bazuka when ds had loads of the buggers and it got rid of them very quickly, keep going ! Banana and duct tape has never worked for me.
