Boils on chin

Hi please could someone advise me...
I have 2 raging hormone boils on my chin and a pot of mag sulphate paste. I tried smearing some paste on but it warmed up and dripped down my neck in a most unsultry way. Plasters are too small... please advise me what you seasoned sporners do. I have tried to take a photo but all the burny lumpy liquid stuff is deep under my skin so there isn't really anything to see.
My post title sung to the chorus of Girls On Film Duran Duran is keeping me going at this point...🤣

You need sone heat to draw it out. I've seen wooden spoon heated in a flame recommended before

I would heat needle up and pop them. I’d then use boiling hot cloth to squeeze the puss out and a separate clean hot cloth to cover once it’s popped.

I’d put the mag sulph on the plaster middle bit & then put the plaster on for the night. It’ll splodge itself about. I wouldn’t do the heated spoon thing, you’ll probably just burn yourself, then you’ve got a burned boil which sounds more sore than is worth it.
I would only stuck a pin in it once there’s a visible head. I might well keep a warm flannel or similar on them this evening & then see where you are 8n the morning.

Oooh like cystic acne? I used to get FACE changing sized ones around my jaw, it’s horrible, really feel for you OP! You’re really not meant to fiddle with them but I used to douse mine in tea tree spot sticks and poke at them until they formed a head and then my god the relief but absolutely wouldn’t advise that! I’m lucky they didn’t scar.

I second mag sulphate on a plaster itself and then or or simply leaving them well alone sadly.

Those hormonal cyst ones are the fricking worst. You have my sympathy. However, I doubt you will get them to come to a head or burst, they just stay as horrific painful lumps under the skin.

I recommend a zinc supplement, take the max daily allowance.

HellonHeels · 10/09/2022 15:31

Oh and hot compress + painkillers. Ibuprofen if you are able to take it is best.

Oh they don’t, but it takes at least a day of dedicated squeezing while hormonally hysterically crying over why you’re making it worse.

You're made of stern stuff 😮

@user1473878824 whenever I try to squeeze them, a bit of clear stuff comes out every now and then, thats it. And then I get enormous scabs that last about 3 weeks!

@devuskums Yep, a scabby mess. I’m dreadful and picking at stuff so keep going despite knowing I absolutely shouldn’t and it will look worse. DON’T DO THAT!

mintbiscuit · 11/09/2022 21:58

It’s cystic acne. Do NOT squeeze. Benzoyl peroxide is your friend along with time. Treat your skin gently.
