After weeks of sinusitis, finally went to see the GP and was referred to ENT. One CT scan later and he confirmed my entire sinus was blocked on one side of my face by a very large polyp. By the time I had surgery to remove it, it had grown into my nose and started to grown into my throat.

So glad to finally have it out and very kind hospital team gave me a lovely photo of ‘the beast’ for prosperity.

OH MY GOD!! That's the best thing ever! How do you feel now?

barneymcgroo · 24/07/2022 19:35

Phwoarrr!

RishiRich · 24/07/2022 19:35

It needs a name! It looks like an stretchy alien from a plastic egg.

Motionoftheoceon · 24/07/2022 19:36

Feel amazing now, by the time I had it removed I was waking up several times a night from how loudly I was snoring, and it was bloody uncomfortable.

Stopping the snoring has definitely saved my marriage!

wow I am getting sinus infections all the time, nasal drip, the pain in face is awful and neck pain. Am making appt, this week to see doc to ask for ct scan. How long was the operation and the recovery? You must be happy to be able to breathe again and pain gone. Were you bruised after. well done and thanks for sharing.

Runnerbeansflower · 24/07/2022 19:45

A thing of beauty... 🤣

wibblewobbleball · 24/07/2022 19:47

I was thinking it would be the size of a baked bean MAX. That's impressive! Bravo OP!!

friskybivalves · 24/07/2022 19:52

That's beautiful in its grotesquerie.

What's the orangey bulgy bit at the side? Kind of want to give it a prod and see it shiver.

Daysy · 24/07/2022 19:54

I have one of these but been told not to bother removing it as a weakness will be created and it will almost certainly come back - did your surgeon say this OP?

Lindy2 · 24/07/2022 19:55

The multicolour look is most impressive.

I imagine that it's one he'll of a relief that it's gone now OP. You'll be getting a massive oxygen rush every time you breathe in now.

Hotenoughtoburnasausage · 24/07/2022 20:06

Surely you must name it Sigourney?

cbatopainttheshed · 24/07/2022 20:13

I'm so jealous! I was referred to ENT by GO 6 months ago after months of the ting steroid sprays. Had the letter from ENT to say am on waiting list but still haven't had they initial appointment with ENT. I haven't chased it as I know the NHS are struggling to catch up, but this post has given me the boost to chase it! Im fed up of always sounding like I've got a cold, waking myself up snoring and having headaches!

cbatopainttheshed · 24/07/2022 20:14

Referred by GP, not GO!

thunderonlyhappenswhenits · 24/07/2022 21:35

The bit on the side looks like a really old grape

ViscountessBridgerton · 24/07/2022 21:40
