Nose piercing granuloma - any advice? And there’s a bloody photo

Have name changed as very outing , not like I’ve posted any hot gossip
I’ve had no luck with nose piercings lately. My latest attempt, I caught the L shape stud on loopy towel , pulled it out but when I popped it back in a bump started to grow. Ok I though I’ll change to a little ring , had only been it 2 months so now the bump had turned into a nasty looking granuloma. It’s above the hole and is all bloody and raw in the middle . I’ve tried mag sulph, camomile tea bags made it worse and have got saline wound wash spray but as soon as the scab falls off it starts over again. Doctor not helpful , I asked for steroid cream as recommended on various piercing forums but he just said try tea tree oil or salt water , forums say tea tree too strong.
any advice please, my teenagers & sickened work colleagues thankyou in advance 😁

Is this a relatively new piercing? You really shouldn't have a hoop in it until it's healed, and it looks low quality. Go to a reputable local studio, ideally not the one that put a ring in. Get a sterilised piercing grade stud.

Maybe try a NoPull piercing disc once you've managed to deal with the soreness/infection.

Thankyou @Paprikapommes
was me that put the ring in ( was from previous piercing and I’d sterilised it) I’d been pierced with a needle and she’d put an l shape titanium stud in . I thought by changing to a ring it would help the bump but maybe the no pull disc thing would have been worth a go, I’ll look into those .

I had this with mine in the end I couldn’t keep the piercing and had to have the lump removed. Sorry no good advice. Definitely no hoops till fully heeled.

MamblingOn · 11/06/2022 20:11

Salt paste! Rock salt ideally. And just put it on any chance you get for as long as you can. Takes a couple of weeks. I found mine kept coming back each time after a few months though.

Cstring · 11/06/2022 21:28

How did you get the lump removed @Blarblarblar ?

I have a small nose bump under my 2 month nasal piercing, it started after I pulled it on a towel too. I found some fucidin cream and applied it with a cotton bud and it took away the redness and soreness. The bump still remains though. I think I was over cleaning it, so I’m trying to completely leave it and just spray with prontolund every couple of days as it was so sore before.

Blarblarblar · 11/06/2022 21:54

Had to pay to get it lasered off. I was abroad at the time. It was super quick. Then I got the other side pierced and the same thing happened so I guess I’m just not meant to have a nose piercing 🤣

Cstring · 11/06/2022 22:23

Thanks!
But not what I was hoping to hear 😁

Thelnebriati · 11/06/2022 22:34

I would scrub my hands clean and flatten it.

Deepclean · 11/06/2022 22:43

Don't touch the piercing, don't be tempted to fiddle or poke around, use dettol wound spray and be patient. Don't turn the ring or move it in any way, unless to upgrade to medical grade titanium

Neat tea tree got rid of mine. My sister used crushed aspirin made into a paste to attempt to get rid of hers (wouldn’t really recommend this) and hers is still there. Tea tree all the way!

Indoctro · 11/06/2022 22:49

You need Prontolind , that will clear it up

Prontolind spray 75 ml - For the antibacterial cleaning and care of piercings, tunnels, plugs and Body modifications - recommended by leading piercing studios! amzn.eu/d/2suYAiO

Dogroses · 11/06/2022 23:01

I had this and it kept coming back so I had to lose the piercing. It cleared up completely though.

I've been using this on my daughters ears for over a month and she still has a lump next to her piercing..

Ohdearohdearohdear6 · 14/06/2022 22:05

Crush an aspirin with a little water to make a paste. Apply paste with a Q tip to bumpy bit. Wash off after an hour. Repeat next day if necessary.

Works brilliantly.

Lds1 · 14/06/2022 22:14

I'd try a sea salt solution, tea tree oil or dissolvable aspirin paste. I use these three things when one of my piercings play up. Tea tree oil seems to work best for me.

thankyou all so mch for your advice, I’m going to leave the new scab as long as possible this week and see what happens ... I’ve found a doctor pimple popper private clinic locally so fingers crossed that might be plan b!

I used neat tcp on the bump that appeared on my nose piercing. Popped it, it bled like mad. Just cleaned it twice a day with tcp on a q tip it cleared up after 3days

Luredbyapomegranate · 21/06/2022 00:21

I think your nose doesn’t like holes OP.

I’d give it up.

Badnosesituation · 22/06/2022 22:59

It healed! I kept on with mag sulph on the granuloma , leaving it to scab up til the scab fell off and then strong sea salt solution each day on a cotton bud. When it had shrunk down I swiftly replaced the hoop with the (sterilised ) stud the piercer used after the needle. Still a small bump next to the piercing but no where near the previous monstrosity.Phew I’m glad I didn’t remove it and will leave it alone for a few months now!
Thankyou again for all the advice !
