I've only just got a good look at it now, it's amazingly disgusting. He wants to pop it so best practices please and I shall provide photographic or video evidence as payment providing it's not a disappointing letdown of a popper.

It's time for Sunday worship!

Lavendersquare · 15/05/2022 15:15

Keep an eye on the redness around it, looks like it's infected.

GinaCarbonara · 15/05/2022 15:20

That's what I thought as well when he showed me. It doesn't seem to be tracking and isn't hot or sore apparently. I think it might be from a hair follicle as he's quite the hirsute chap.

Oooooo

CatsOperatingInGangs · 15/05/2022 15:26

If pop with a sterilised needle, evacuate, then dress it with loads of antiseptic cream overnight. The redness should have gone down in the morning but if it hadn’t it might be infected.

N4MEChange · 15/05/2022 15:39

Whereabouts is this on DP?

viques · 15/05/2022 15:40

Oooh. It’s like an eye that follows you round the room……

nearlyspringyay · 15/05/2022 15:43

Is it a bite? It looks infected!

Badger1970 · 15/05/2022 15:44

Please don't pop that, it's one to get checked. He hasn't been bitten?

GinaCarbonara · 15/05/2022 15:47

It's on his leg, just above his ankle.

He doesn't think he's been bitten, not that he remembers. Just started off as a spot he said and hasn't been itchy etc

I am a dedicated sporner - but that really does look angry and infected with the redness around it, so I would be wary of popping making it worse as it risks spreading the infection more.

Good soak in the bath and then magnesium sulphate under a plaster, I would not be poking about with that redness and swelling.

SheWoreYellow · 15/05/2022 15:50

Does look infected. May as well squeeze it and see if it goes down. Keep a close eye on it though.

strrawberriesandcream · 15/05/2022 15:54

I'd pop it using a sterile needle and spray with antiseptic then put a plaster on.

sqirrelfriends · 15/05/2022 17:32

Send that photo to your GP tomorrow to have a look at.

thenewduchessoflapland · 15/05/2022 17:35

Looks like all surface pus tbh

Luculentus · 16/05/2022 09:15

Letting the pus out with a sterilised needle wouldn't spread any infection.

splishsplashsploshsplish · 16/05/2022 12:33

Steralised needle, and antiseptic spray. Did you do it yet? Video it...

GinaCarbonara · 16/05/2022 15:13

Haven't yet! Yesterday ended up being really busy. I didn't think to ask how it looked this morning so will check when he's home from work.

OP posts:
GinaCarbonara · 17/05/2022 22:14

It popped today! I saw it was looking a lot less red but the head a lot bigger this morning, but DP was running late for work so didn't get a chance to have at it, and he's just noticed now that it's already gone Sad

It has left behind quite a nice hole though

Ooooh, rubs hands on thighs. Looks to me like there’s still a bit of gunk left in there………maybe a warm compress and a slow firm squeeze is called for.

WildCherryBlossom · 21/05/2022 13:20

What Viques says! ☝️

Definitely more to emerge from that hole. Good luck OP

XioXio · 24/05/2022 23:45

Looks like Monkeypox
